Larson’s is a Farm turned Garden Center started in 1919 by her Great Grandmother Lydia who began by selling excess homegrown fruits\, veggies\, and chickens roadside on Rt 6 in Bristol. 104 years later Kaitlyn has revitalized the family business\, moved its location 3 times\, and expanded offerings to include landscape design and installation in addition to the fantastic variety and quality of Annuals\, Perennials\, Trees\, and Shrubs she offers to the community. Her fun\, whimsical\, and down to earth approach makes creating dream landscapes and successful gardens\, enjoyable and fun. Kaitlyn believes in matching the plants and landscapes with the personality of the people who desire them by getting to know her customers. In turn\, Larson’s Garden Center believes in treating its customers like friends and its employees like family. \n\n\nGrowing up in the industry Kaitlyn’s depth of plant and maintenance knowledge is impressive\, she openly shares information and hopes that it helps people succeed and ultimately help them find peace and happiness. SUMMARY:When ICE Comes to Your Door
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, June 25\, 2025\nVirtual\n3 pm – 5 pm \nThis program will guide employers through the critical steps of preparing for and responding to potential ICE activity at the workplace. Topics include assessing the likelihood of a raid\, understanding the distinctions among ICE raids\, audits\, and searches and seizures\, and recognizing the limits of governmental authority to search the premises or arrest employees. Participants will learn the two key decisions that should be made in advance\, how to evaluate ICE search warrants\, and how to develop an effective “ICE Enforcement Plan\,” including designating a point person and outlining essential response elements. The session will also cover best practices for first encounters\, such as what your designated representative should say and do\, how to handle requests for employee files or interviews\, and how to avoid claims of obstruction. Prior to starting the firm\, Bob served as Vice President and Counsel for the Connecticut Business and Industry Association.  In that capacity\, he was responsible for advising association members of the latest developments in workplace law and HR issues.  In addition\, Bob’s professional experience includes 20 years in Human Resources Management with Pitney Bowes Inc\, and the Napier Co\, an international manufacturing concern.  He holds a juris doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law as well as a master’s degree in industrial relations and a master’s degree in sociology. \nBob is the author of “An Employer’s Guide to the Family and Medical Leave Act” and “The HIPAA Privacy Rule: Understanding the Compliance Obligations of Group Health Plans and Health Care Providers.”  He is a contributing author on disability law in Cumulative Trauma Disorders\, a medical text\, and writes on workplace issues for a variety of publications including the Connecticut Law Tribune.  In addition\, Bob has been featured in several publications including the Society for Human Resources Management’s Trends in Management (“Robert Noonan: Expert’s Viewpoint”)\, The New York Times\, The Hartford Courant\, The New Haven Register\, The Stamford Advocate\, The New London Day\, The Waterbury Republican and others.  Additionally\, he has appeared on several television and radio programs concerning workplace issues. \nHe is on the executive committee of the Employment Section of the Connecticut Bar Association\, a trustee of Gibbs College and a faculty member of St. Joseph’s College\, CCSU\, and the University of Hartford.  He is admitted to practice before the Connecticut superior courts and the federal district courts.
