Responsibilities:

Gardening

  • Installation and maintenance of woody, perennial, and annual plant material, including deadheading, cutbacks, dividing, fertilizing, etc.

  • Container and annual bed design and planting.
  • Outdoor holiday decorating.
  • General landscaping and groundskeeping.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Facilitate the flow of information between the field and account managers.

Planning

  • Ensure your crew is prepared for your daily tasks: equipment & tools, plant material, etc.

Employee Management

The team coordinator provides administrative support to growing areas as required and ensures that the service requirements of team members are being met, assist in coordinating department activities, facilitate effective communication among team members and provide written or verbal translation (Spanish / English) as necessary to craftsmen and coaches. Apply and model the principles of Monrovia Nursery Quality (MNQ) in all administrative activities.

Job Functions:

  • Ensure that departmental information is updated in the appropriate system(s) accurately and in a timely manner; carry out data entry audits for accuracy and take action where necessary.
  • Prepare agendas, attend and minute department meetings and ensure timely distribution; serve as a contributing member of the department by providing administrative support of timely information for and from the assigned department; provide administrative support in the creation of department operating, financial, and training plans.
  • Ensure the prompt delivery of company and inter-department correspondence and facilitate communication among coaches and craftsmen.
  • Respond to coach and craftsmen administrative requests, ensuring that these are addressed promptly and are directed to the right person.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  1. Must have a valid driver’s license; minimum of two years general clerical experience.

Full-time position.  Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Peak shipping season, March thru June, hours can include Saturdays 7:00 am to 12:00 pm as well as extended hours Monday through Friday, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm or longer, as determined by supervising coach. Additional work hours may apply depending on the business needs.
  3. Proficient at keyboarding, MS Word, and Excel spreadsheet applications; using Microsoft Suite and learning proprietary systems.
  4. Excellent organizational and customer service skills: ability to professionally and effectively interact with others regardless of personality, background, race, gender and economic status.
  5. Ability to take initiative with minimal direction; Demonstrates flexibility with regard to immediate needs of team and willingness to embrace change.
