Ali’s Nursery and Landscaping is located in Plantsville, CT and is seeking an experienced and team oriented individual to join us this Spring 2018 season. As an employee in the garden center your responsibilities would include but not be limited to: watering and maintaining plants, unloading deliveries, greenhouse maintenance, sales associate, and general property maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of experience working at a Garden Center or 6 completed semesters of related coursework in Plant ID & General Horticultural Practices.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License AND transportation to and from work
  • Must be able to follow directions and work as a team
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various conditions
  • Must be able to wear proper attire to work and look presentable (steel-toe boots)
  • Must be able to safely lift 50lbs
  • Must be respectful, honest, reliable, self-motivated, and possess positive attitude

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION CREW MEMBER

Ali’s Nursery and Landscaping is located in Plantsville, CT and is seeking an experienced and team oriented individual to join our Landscape Construction Crew for a full time position this Spring 2018 season with opportunity for winter work. Landscape Construction workers will be responsible for completing hardscape installations, completing project tasks in an efficient timely manner, and reporting to the Landscape Manager. Direct activities on job site include but not limited to:

  • Hardscaping
  • Landscaping
  • Masonry
  • Safely and proficiently use hand tools
  • Operate heavy machinery, driving truck + trailer combo
  • Work well with others as a team player
  • Communication skills: Be able to communicate well with crew members, clients, and supervisor

Requirements

Ali’s Nursery and Landscaping is located in Plantsville, CT has great opportunities available for Full Time Landscape Crew Members beginning April 2018 with opportunity for winter work. Landscape Crew Members will be responsible for safely and efficiently producing quality landscape service that meets or exceeds the standards of clients and management. Landscape Crew Members will also need to be able to work independently or with a team on a variety of service and installation tasks. Direct activities on job site include but not limited to: Mulching, Weeding, Edging, Pruning, Planting + Installing Landscape Designs.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of experience working at a Garden Center or 6 completed semesters of related coursework in Plant ID & General Horticultural Practices.
  • Must be able to operate landscape equipment, driving truck + trailer a plus

We are seeking an energetic, experienced sales representative to help our existing staff push sales for the fast approaching 2018 sales season!

We are a well established grower and re-wholesaler that has heavily invested in new land and infrastructure in the last few years and need a sales/customer service representative to help boost sales.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a positive attitude-we pride ourselves on having a culture of learning and have trained some of the best in the industry.  From how plants are grown, to where they thrive and their aesthetic features in a landscape are some of the points of focus for our staff.
  • Have a solid knowledge of how to identify plants used in the area and their cultural preferences.
  • Reliably show up every day, ready to work in all weather conditions.
  • Be able to life 50+ pounds repeatedly in a fast paced work environment.
  • Be willing to assist with projects during slow times-for example, we have a number of hoophouses to put up, container and B&B tree blocks to set up and drainage issues to resolve among other things.
