Assistant/Associate extension Educator for Controlled Environmental Agriculture
This full-time, 11-month appointment for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Extension Educator in CAHNR to collectively advance Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). The successful candidate is expected to develop strong working relationships with producers throughout the state; interact with UConn faculty, state, and federal agency personnel; and develop interdisciplinary extension programs. This is an off-campus, county-based position. Assignment of office location is negotiable in the northwest or northeast part of the state and requires the individual to travel.

Our Department Managers take the lead as the Nursery/Plant Material expert in the branch, working closely with customers on any or all needs within the department to ensure excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Assist Branch Manager with the sales and operations planning process in the nursery yard.
- Understand and execute the principals of inventory management, target customer mix and sales.
- Create a positive environment for employees which encourages teamwork in alignment with SiteOne DNA.

Qualifications:

- Understanding of accounting fundamentals; including debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable and budgets.
- Ready and willing to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

A CTECS Landscape Design, Installation and Equipment (LDIE) teacher is responsible for educating students on theoretical and performance-based topics related to landscaping and equipment operation. The Landscape Design, Installation and Equipment program includes use and installation of materials such as interlocking concrete pavers and segmental retaining wall units (SRW), the related hand and power tools, soil preparation, drainage installation, operation and maintenance of power equipment, and greenscape installations and maintenance, such as turf, plants, trees, etc.
The Landscape Design, Installation and Equipment (LDIE) department head is an instructional leader who promotes student achievement for all and facilitates the operations of the department. As a Department Head, you are responsible for the duties outlined above, as well as responsibilities related to instructional support, leadership and operations within your department.
