Plant It Right: Hands-On Best Practices for Successful Planting is an interactive workshop designed for nursery and landscape professionals. This session focuses on essential planting techniques that promote long-term plant health, successful establishment, and sustainable landscape performance.

Participants will learn proper planting practices that help reduce environmental stress, minimize pest and disease susceptibility, and support integrated plant health management strategies. By understanding how correct installation and establishment techniques influence plant vitality, attendees will gain insight into reducing long-term maintenance needs and chemical inputs while improving overall landscape sustainability.

Through practical instruction and live demonstrations, attendees will learn how to identify and avoid common planting mistakes, including improper planting depth, buried root flares, circling roots, incorrect mulching practices, and watering challenges.

The workshop will also provide research-based, practical guidance for the proper installation of both container-grown and balled-and-burlapped plants. Participants will leave with actionable skills and best practices that improve plant establishment, reduce losses, and enhance long-term landscape success.
